return to  Kathleen Craig
                                             Giving Back

Community involvement, publishing and teaching are important to Kathleen Craig. She personally developed and implemented a hands-on class to teach blind and visually impaired adults to garden and enjoy this hobby. She has supplied designs for physically challenged individuals and has freely given her time to teaching and community projects. She established the Master Gardener’s Hot Line serving the Palo Alto area. Also Kathleen led the effort to recognize and stabilize the Williams garden, an historical garden in Palo Alto. For this effort she was recognized by the Palo Alto Stanford Heritage (PAST) by an award for Outstanding Community Contribution in Landscape Preservation. This is significant in itself, but even more so when noted that this PAST had never acknowledged efforts for landscape preservation.
