A passion for gardening and landscape design must be nurtured by studies of what others have done. One is naturally drawn to the important gardens of the world. Included in Kathleen Craig's experience are in-depth studies of not only North and South American gardens, but also the classical and contemporary gardens of Europe. She has visited many in Italy, France, Holland, England and Ireland. In doing so she has generated a large resource of information and colleagues in these countries. As a fiber artist, Kathleen has studied and collected Asian textiles, further adding to her design knowledge.
Kathleen recently led a tour of the classical gardens of southern Italy. Her expertise was important in making the historical relevance of these gardens meaningful. Her impromptu movie of the magical music from the famous 16c water organ at Cardinal Ippolito II d'Este’s Villa d’Este, has been enjoyed by many. Click here to see and hear it.
These travels and studies have given Kathleen a wide palette of ideas from which to develop client's designs. Click below for some photos of some of these beautiful landscapes.
